How To Prep For Your Laser Service

March 18, 2022

Whether you’re new to the world of hair removal or not, we want to reveal a few tricks of the trade that promise to make for a better laser experience. From the ideal frequency between appointments to how to prep your skin for an upcoming session, keep reading to discover all there is to know about booking a treatment at WAXON.

How to prep for your upcoming WAXON visit:

1. Book Appointment:
WAXON’s easy-to-use online booking system and NEW iOS and Android App allows you to make an appointment in just a few clicks. Select your location, service, date & time, and voila! You’re all set. Remember, for optimal results, we recommend booking your next laser appointment every 6-8 weeks.

2. Prep For Your Laser Appointment:

  • Shave All Areas The Night Before Laser Service: The areas being lasered cannot be waxed, tweezed, or epilated at least 2-4 weeks before the appointment, however, they should be shaved the night before. You’ll also want to avoid excessive UV exposure, self-tanning, and tan enhancers in the two weeks leading up to your appointment.

  • Exfoliate And Moisturize Skin Prior To Treatment: Use a gentle scrub or body polishthe night before your waxing session to slough off dead skin cells, making your hair easier to remove the next day. You’ll also want to use a moisturizer or oil the night before to ensure your skin is hydrated, healthy, and ready for the waxing process.

3. After Each Laser Treatment:
We recommend that you should not apply makeup or perfume to the treated area for 24 hours. Gently exfoliate the treated area 48 hours after your service using Body By WAXON Citrus Mint Body Polish. Avoid the following for 48 hours after treatment: direct heat including UV rays, steam rooms, hot tubs, working out and swimming. Avoid extended UV exposure and chlorine for 7 days after your treatment. Avoid any additional laser treatments or chemical procedures on the treated area for at least 2 weeks after treatment.

4. During Your Laser Journey:
You may shave but we recommend not waxing, tweezing or epilating the skin. Wear SPF 45 or higher on treated skin to protect from harmful UV rays. Avoid using any ingrown hair serums.

5. If Applicable, Consult With Your Doctor:
If you’re interested in booking a laser treatment, we recommend consulting with your doctor beforehand to make sure you have no underlying health issues or are on any medications that may interfere with the treatment.

6. Purchase A Bar Tab To Save Time + Money:
Did you know that the ideal time frame between appointments is 6-8 weeks for laser? That’s right, so why not go ahead and book multiple appointments all at once. You can save money on any of WAXON’s waxing, laser, and threading treatments by purchasing a bar tabpackage of 4, 6, or 8 sessions. Each tab comes with savings of between 15% and 25% and can be used at any WAXON location. Plus, you can buy now and pay later using PayBright.

There’s no time like the present! Book now and start your hair removal journey with WAXON.
